So, I’ve been trying to introduce my two babes and my older rat together. I’ve been following all the intoduction steps and so far, everything has gone really well. Yesterday was the first time we introduced them. We introduced them in the tub, a neutral place for both parties. The babies were very curious and my older rat Annie didn’t mind them whatsoever. There were no signs of aggression and they were together for around 15 minutes. Today we replecated those circumstances, put all three rats in the tub and Annie lashed out. She scared the rats into submission but continued to bite and act aggressively. She continued to push it until it escalated into a fight. Thankfully no one was hurt, only a few tuffs of fur were pulled out. I know she’s showing dominance and letting the babies know she’s not going to Be pushed around but I’m terrified somone will be seriously hurt. I’m not very experienced in rat introduction and would appreciate as many tips given to me to avoid fighting.
Thanks
