3 day old babies...Mom die

HELP! Rat mom die and leave babies(3day old)! What to do? I try to give them cow milk... But dont know is that good. Please help.

Cow's milk is definately not good for them-I think there's powdered formulas for puppies or kittens that people have used here, I'm no expert but the cow's milk is a definate no-no, their bellies can't handle it. Good luck with the bubs by the way

You need to feed them soy baby formula (baby formula for human babies).
gently massage their bottoms with a damp warm Q-tip or cloth to stimulate them to poop after eating. They need to be fed every 2 to 3 hours, 24 hours a day.
Keep them warm.

Kitten formula from a vet.

Find a nursing mother rat and she will likely accept the addition of 3 more babies.
Just make them smell like her, and add them to the other babies before adding the mom back in.

You can get it almost anywhere. Walmart, Grocery store ANYWHERE. You have to drive around and LOOK

Heh i am from Europe and 1% of people know what is soya. We dont use it. And nobody in my city dont have rats. Only me and hospitals(where rats are used for experiments). I wil try that kitten formula from vet.

I have heard of people using puppy formula from a vet as well.
Feed slowly, a drop at a time so the milk does not go into their lungs.
Feed every 2 hours until their eyes open, then every 3 hours.

The best option is a nursing mom to adopt them ... maybe a hospital might have one.

How to make them eat?! I get puppy formula. And i have small thing(something like dry-tail) and i get formula in that... get near baby mouth but nothing... dont want to open mouth. What to do?

but you need a 1cc syringe with a catac nipple but sometimes you can find something else that works other then a catac nipple.

Could you please stop speaking in "short form". It's kinda hard to read that way.

I suggest you go to a hospital and ask if they have a nursing mama. If they have one, give the babies to the mom until the are old enough to be separated and hopfuly the hospital will give them back to you so you can either keep or rehome them.

I think English is probably not ADRat's first language.......

ADRat ......I hope you can save the babies.....it is very difficult but can be done.....good luck and please keep us posted.
