When it's safe after a neuter

My mom was talking to our vet about how long to wait after a neuter before introducing to a female.
Dr. Vannevel explained that with her neuters, our wait time is hardly any but she recommends a week only because she doesn't want the male to perform the act and injure himself.
My vet cuts off a huge portion of the vas deference. She said that those vets who cut very close to the teste will have sperm remaining but those who cut like her have pretty much no chance of sperm remaining at all in the male but needs to wait a week so the act doesn't hurt him after the surgery.

I thought this was an interesting fact to share.

We always wait 4 weeks just to be on the safe side.

Maybe that is why it is recommended to wait 3 to 4 weeks, as vets may not perform neuters exactly the same way.
