Hi everyone,

Tonight ive seen some really strange behaviour in my 2 boys.. my mum called me downstairs and said they were fighting, it seems like a usual minor scrap with some standing up on hind legs staring contest, but it seemed a bit intense so i seperated them and brought them both outside the cage (usually calms them down), both of them were really puffed up. Thor (the more dominant one) went straight back in the cage and sat on one of the beds staring at the door, then Sam (the slightly younger one) went in and holed himself up in a plastic igloo and wont come out (not even for yogurt treats!). Thor is like, laying down outside the entrance to the igloo as if he's holding Sam hostage, and keeps poking his head in then coming back out and laying down in the same place?!

Ive never seen them act like it and im worried to leave them incase they start fighting and hurt each other, Thor has a tumor right now aswell and i dont want him to hurt it.. any suggestions what to do please?!

Ive also spritzed Thor with water but after cleaning himself he just carries on.. *confused*

strange...I don't have any experience with this....maybe try putting in a few of bowls of tasty treats II would put in two or three bowls of something so there is no way someone will "guard" it) and see if they will get over their tiff.....

His tumor has grown a bit but they've been fine all day today, just this evening they started being weird. I took the plastic igloo out, Sam is moving around the cage now and Thor just let himself be groomed, they both seem quiet and are giving each other space, so im hoping they make up like they usually do. They scrapped a lot when they were young but havnt for a long time now, so im wondering if they freaked each other out a bit.. they keep pancaking on the floor around the cage and shifting bedding about, washing themselves aswell, they dont seem amazingly stressed or anything.

I rubbed some strawberry flavouring into their fur as a distraction, they've been grooming each other a little bit since then so fingers crossed all will be well again soon! Strange creatures!

I too was thinking about the tumour. If it's starting to hurt him, he might act up this way. But... scuffles between brothers are extremely common. All part of living with your sibling.

They're both happily cuddled up together in their fleecy bed this morning, so it looks like they made up in the night :joy:

Thanks for the replies, i guess i worry about them too much! I will keep an eye on Thor though because of the tumor.
