She's ripping up cardboard boxes and taking the pieces to her bed, taking her litter piece by piece to her bed, taking all of her bedding to her bed, doesnt want to come out of the cage either. I had convinced myself that she wasn't pregnant but now I'm not sure. Help???

How long have you had her now?

I've had her for about 15 months, if you mean how long is it since she was with the male it's been 3 and a half weeks

Too long, she's not pregnant. 21-23 days gestation...you would see a large belly, bare nipples that she groomed free of hair so that the babies could nurse easily etc.

She's just being "busy".

If you're sure. She's still getting bigger though, and I can't figure out why.

Sorry, 2 and a half weeks, not 3. She hasn't played with the male since the 11th at the latest.

Rats sometimes do this, my males built nests all the time.
But if she was put with males then she is likely pregnant. Why was she let to roam with males if neither were fixed?

The rat breeder I got the male from who is quite experienced with rats said it was fine to let them have playtime outside of the cage together. This was before I knew that they could mate within a second, as he said that the male has to chase the female round for ages before they mate. I didn't know as much as I know now, and I've done a lot of research about a lot of stuff. I know I was in the wrong for letting them play together, but I didn't know at the time..
