cant type right now got a rat on my lap

she had already pulled out four of the nine staples before I got there to pick her up

I'm trying to keep her from pulling out the rest

Brie had ALL of hers out by the time I got to the clinic. She was barely awake and she pulled them right out :p Did your vet glue as well?

Yup, glue and two or was it three? layers of stitches, so she said she'll be ok so long as she doesn't go digging for the deepest ones
:p
she finally laid down to sleep

she's mostly just trying to clean things off down there now, she doesn't seem to mind the remaining staples as much. The ones she took out where right in the crease so I can imagine those were the most uncomfortable

she smells kinda funky- how long before the surgery smells wear off?

Tilly has recovered so quickly!

If it weren't for the incision and those staples, you'd never know this girl had surgery less than 24 hrs ago!

here's some photos from this morning, sorry one is so blurry, I was trying to get a shot of the staples, she's only taken one more out (so that's five out of nine she removed, silly girl)

she cleaned herself up really well and no longer smells funny.

Clair is now with her. I don't think I've seen a happier rat, Clair was just beside herself to be reunited with her beloved "sister".

I hope I do this right, here's the photos:

That's great she's recovering so quickly and I can imagine how excited her 'sister' was to see her again!
haha Hope she doesn't pull anymore staples out! Silly baby!

thanks everyone!

here's another photo of my cutie pie

Monkey7 on Goosemoose Rat's Rule makes the "Rat barrel" hammock that she's in. She loves the rat barrels
:)

(a shameless little plug for my pal)

hmm, looks like I couldn't decide how to spell Tilly- I used TillIE for this photo
 :giggle:

thanks everyone

I can't believe that I was so worried about how hard this would be on her- she's doing just amazingly well.

Makes me very sad and regretful that I did not get her mom's tumors removed. I bet she would have bounced back just as fast.

Oh well, can't turn back time, just learn from my mistakes and go forward. I miss Tessa so very much though.
She was a special girl Didn't sit still long enough for cuddles but she was a lot of fun to watch. She stashed stuff and made the most elaborate nests.

I'm never giving up so quickly on any of my kids ever again.

this is Tessa(RIP), Tilly's mom

thanks!

she's left the remaining four staples alone!! the vet was sure she was going to rip them all out, she got so many out so quickly after surgery

she does look good, doesn't she? :D
