for her nervous mom, mostly- she's totally un aware of what's about to happen.

I was fine til this morning, now I am so nervous!!

I trust my vet's surgical skill and she's very very careful with anesthesia, etc but still, this is surgery on my little baby girl
ok so she's not exactly little, she's a plump girl and she's no longer a baby, she's 19 mos old but still!
you know what I mean

ok gotta get going, it just occurred to me that I am not going to want to take her home on the buses, too bumpy a ride so I need to get some $$ for cab fare

I'll update you all later, ok?

good luck Althea, kisses to Tilly!

did you pick up the ibu?

thanks everyone!
well, I talked to the vet and she's not comfortable doing a spay(I think she's never done one before) so Tilly's just having the tumor removed- and she's going to have pain meds- I requested them- plus some to come home with her (I forget what kind though, I just couldn't sleep last night and now my brain is as slow as molasses on a winter day)

Something I gave the girls to eat caused them to have really smelly squishy poops, though. I've got to figure out what it is and not give it to them again!!
Clair walked in it while she was in the carrier and got it all over her hind foot. I took her into the bathroom @ the vets to get her cleaned up and I ended up with the stinky stuff all over my shirt :sick2: :emb:
p-yew! did it smell bad!

I gave them two new foods yesterday :emb: so for now I've just removed both of those from their diet.

I am supposed to keep the girls apart but I can't see that going over too well. Clair "mothers" Tilly now that Tilly's mom is gone, and I think she'd get really upset if they were apart. I will be keeping a close eye on them and if Tilly goes off to sleep by herself and Clair is ok with that, I'll take her out and keep her in a different place (only have the one cage, but I've got three cat carriers, and two of those are huge, so they'll be ok)

ok the vet is going to call after 3 and I can go and get them after 4 or 4:30 I think she said.

I'll let you know how it all goes! thanks for the well wishes and vibes. :rathugz:

After 3? Are you still breathing? I would be passing out by then!!

not much longer to go!!

I am still breathing.

busy making sure that everything is ready for when they come home.

the cats know something is up and they keep tripping me!!! :gaah:

I think I'll take out the other cat carrier and "threaten" to put them in it, that will make them scatter :giggle:

I just got the call, she's doing ok!! resting on a heated pad- Tilly is in a big cage and Clair is sleeping in the cat carrier that I brought them in

I am bringing a fleece pouch so I can put Clair in my pocketbook on the way home (It closes securely) because I don't want to have to bring two cat carriers home. They'd get bumped around too much.

much better, I figure, to put Clair in my shoulder bag and keep Tilly in the carrier.

oh it came to $163 (less than the low end of the estimate :) )but that's not including any pain meds I might get for her, and I asked that the vet take a look at Clair because she seems a bit off to me. She was breathing funny last night, and she's doing some of that hiccuping when she first wakes up. (and as I posted elsewhere, she's been kinda shuffling along, back feet don't seem to move like they should?)

They said I could see the tumor, if I wanted to- I'd really rather not. I'm not normally squeamish, at least I never used to be, but I'm finding it harder to see this stuff when it comes out of a loved one. If it were a stranger or a cadaver, ok, fine.

just a few more hours and she'll be home.

:)

Yay!

I'm glad that everything went well! I bet they'll be happy when their home with there mom!

I'm sending vibes for a speedy recovery!
