You really have to take him to the vets asap before it gets any worse or the tooth starts to dig into his lip.

What you can do is go to the vet the first time, and get the vet to show you how to trim them if you are nervous. Then next time you can do it yourself. My rat Taffy's bite went off when she had a stroke. After a month of trimming her teeth, the bite spontaneously self-corrected. She must have re-gained control of the muscles that hadn't been working for a while.
