I had Whiskers out with me just now, and noticed that one of the smaller toes on his back foot is red and swollen. I didn't notice it before, but honestly I've been so exhausted lately that it's possible I just didn't notice. He had a little incident a few days ago where he got a toenail caught in his hammock and I had to get him unhooked - I don't really know if it's the same nail or the same foot, but is it possible he sprained it then? He isn't limping and he doesn't squeak or bite when I put pressure on the toe. I don't have extra medicine around like I know a lot of people do, so is there anything I can do with it to help?

I booked him an appointment with the vet for Thursday. His toe is still a bit swollen (Mom says it's looking better, but I'm not good at noticing stuff like that) and he's got some URI symptoms (porph, sneezing, chirping, etc.). If it's still swollen on Thursday, I'll ask for some Metacam. Is there a certain amount of time I should wait between giving two medications (if he ends up prescribed Baytril and Metacam?)
