Taffy one of my young girls got her foot hurt last week I assume it was from a fight...it was bloody and I could see the cut didn't look like much cleaned it up for a few days and it seemed to be ok. she was not bothering with it much and she was walking fine in day or two.
I noticed tonight she was not putting weight on that foot, I looked it over and it appears swollen and maybe a little red but not bad. I soaked in warm water and put a little polysporin on it. How should I procede with this its obviously bothering her should I just continue to soak it and keep and eye on it? it really doesn't look like much other than a bit swollen.

Not much you can do about foot injuries ....

For swelling and pain, metacam may help.
Keep an eye on the swelling as a lot of swelling can be dangerous.
If infected, an antibiotic is needed.

It has been like 2 weeks and poor Taffy is not putting weight on that foot still... its a bit swollen but not discolored.
I feel so bad for her I just don't know what to do I feel so helpless... is it possible its broken? maybe got caught in the ladder or something...poor girl.

It could be several things:
1. The cut healed over with a bit of infection trapped, and the foot is infected, or
2. She broke her foot or sprained it really badly, or
3. She reinjured her foot a week after the initial injury.
I am always suspicious of an infection when swelling comes up several days after an open wound heals. I would try a course of antibiotics to see if the swelling clears up. If it does, then problem solved. If nothing changes, then at least you know it's not an infection and can treat for sprain/break.
