I was examining my boys today, and being worried about lumps and bumps I decided to feel their testes, I looked at George's first, and it felt like he had two smooth lumps on the end of each teste.

Panicked now, so i am booking a vet appointment tomorrow, but I also felt gordons he too had two lump like things on the end of his but not as round as George's, is that normal to have? I am hoping I caught this early and they are young enough to be castrated.

Upon examining George I found a small circular wound above his leg, more so on his belly, pretty much a small hole puncture like wound, no infection is visible, no blood, just a clean cut. I have heard the boys fight a little, llike when they stand up and do a boxing like fight, but never anything vicious. So now I am worried to what this is. I am definitely taking both of them to the vets tomorrow, I am a bit terrified at what they might say. I am so scared they will wanna put one down or something, my experience in the past with vets is, "oh there is nothing we can do, it's for the best" ... I hate it!!!

Thank you,
Ria

I will get better pictures of the wound tomorrow before I take him to the vets, I just thought it was in such and odd place.

It's bigger than the picture shows, when the skin stretches its the size of a circle, best describe like a sore or hole.

Looks like it might be bite wound. Have the boys been fighting recently at all?
I was actually away for afew days and had my brother tend to them I will ask him in the morning if he has noticed anything.

In all honesty all I see them do is sleep. They are most active at night when I am asleep, I can't account for what they do at night. On occasion I have seen them scrap, when they are stood up on their back legs and fighting with their front paws, might be a sign they fight in general perhaps? My girls did that a lot, they would scrap about one moment be cuddled up the next.

I am going to watch them closely tonight. And if I see any fighting I will bring up the spare cage tonight even, just to be safe x___X

I suggest you get another vet. Usually we don't put down animals until their quality of life is zero. :(

Also, it looks like a bite wound to me. Once my dog started leaking blood all over the place, like a huge puddle. We found a PERFECT round, clean, tiny hole in his side- we were positivie it was a bullet hole- and it turned out to be a bite wound.

Huh?

Booked vet appointment, they are both going to be castrated tomorrow! Costing me quite a bit, for rodents I thought it'd be a asonable price but £54 each, equivalent to $84 each.
Is that similar to your prices or is that just ridiculous!? Lol. Oh well thankfully I have just been paid. X___x

Oh good I am glad that is agood price I really wasn't sure what the price should be!!

And thank you, is is the first time I have ever got my rats neutered, scary!! They are young and I know they will bounce back hehe!

Ohbyeh and the hole on George has healed pretty much over night it's amazing!!! It's just a thin looking cut now, I got all worried over nothing, hehe!!!

Wow I never realised England's vets were so much cheaper, normally we are more expensive on most things compared to other countries, I will be more grateful knowing this now!!! :emb:
