HEEEELLPPPP

so we just moved in our first house and the girls where doing great they love running around out of the cage and all that. but since sunday munschy was just laying around not really eating or drinkin so i looked at her closer and found a lump right after her forarm, i totally freaked out and we went to the vet yesterday n he said its a mammary tumor so really comman in female rats, i kno a lil about them but is it normal if rats have those that they just lay around dont do anything and i can tell on her look that she is not feeling well and i dont know what could i do to make her feel better?? the doctor can do the surgery but not until 2 weeks from this one.

How old is your girl? Did your vet check her out for myco and other infections too? They usually act pretty normal with a mammary tumor.

She is almost 2. No he didnt check her for anything else. Maybe she's acting weird because we moved n all that n its warm in the room but I have the fan on n door.open so they have fresh air. But I kno something is up cuz she's not acting normal..

It could be the heat...is her breathing okay or is she just lethargic? Offer her cold water in a bowl or even nice soft tempting foods to see if she really has stopped eating.

Her breathing is fine, I have a lil dish with water n ice cubes for them n grapes in there. She was eating them. But it looks like she has no energy to do something

she sounds hot to me. Take a plastic bottle of water or a ceramic dish full of water, and freeze them and put them in the cage near her.

A lot? No that is not a good sign. Can you rat phone her and listen to her lungs? See if she's just lazy and doesn't want to move because of the heat, or if she's limp?

Have you offered her a favorite treat to see if she wakes up to snatch it?
