This is the first time i've logged on here in a little while and i see my boys' photo at the top of the page! Thankyou!

Now.. my current dilemma.. my three boys come out of their cage to free range in my bedroom every evening (their cage is in my room too, so they come and go as they please), last week shortly after they all came out, a dominance tussle broke out between Tyrion and Milo, this is nothing unusual between them, but this time Tyrion butt-slammed Milo a little too hard, and Milo fell off of my bed onto the floor. Normal service resumed but Milo stayed clear of Tyrion the rest of free-range time, and ran away when he saw him where he would usually stand his ground. The next day it was pretty obvious Milo had hurt his leg when he fell, his foot was a little swollen and when he was moving around in the cage sometimes it would take a second for his foot to do what he wanted it to, like it was really stiff. I think he sprained it, he was putting weight on it and was limping a little but seemed fine in general.

Anyway, that night he didnt come out of the cage as usual, i figured his foot was a bit sore so i let him stay in the cage... basically its the same story ever since. For a week now he doesnt want to come out to play at night, but ONLY in my bedroom. If i take him into my dad's room, he's running around exploring and generally doing what they do during free-ranging! His leg is better now, he only has the slightest of limps when he runs. I think he's scared to come out in my bedroom incase Tyrion shows off his dominance, and Milo remembers last time when he got hurt because of it.

I put all 3 boys in my dad's room last night and they were happily running around together, a few occasions of poofy fur and butt-waving, Tyrion was rubbing his rear on the door and stuff to mark it, but it was all normal, i let them walk from dad's room to mine together and as soon as they got back in here, Tyrion went poofy and Milo ran for the cage and wouldnt come out again.

I've made a small amount of progress tonight tempting him out with treats, but he always runs back in after a few minutes. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on settling him back in the normal routine of free ranging in my room? Should i keep letting them in different rooms together for now? I dont like making Milo come out if he doesnt want to, but he used to love exercise time! First one out and last one in, i hate to think he's missing out! Tyrion is super dominant, and always seems to go for Milo and not Dexter, even in the cage, but he's not full on attacked them with the intention of hurting since i got rid of his mite problem, its just the usual little things that all rats do..

 I have nothing to really offer here, but I hope your baby gets better and you can figure out what is bother him. If I had to guess maybe he is afraid of your bed since the fall?

Maybe you could try closing off the cage, not allowing him to run back in so he can change his "memory" about that spot as his out time.

I hadnt thought of that, tonight i will wheel it outside the room and see how he gets on. I had their door open to change some beds about an hour ago and Milo actually came charging out of the door :giggle: , hopefully he does the same tonight!

And thankyou for the kind words dspch911 :) he doesnt seem to be scared of the bed, he sat with me on it to eat some treats but he was constantly on the lookout for Tyrion. I'll see what happens tonight and update!
