Rats taking Meds

Gah, so Bijoux is driving me crazy, lol.
She's always been soooo good at just licking up her meds from the syringe, but the past 4 or so days she's absolutely REFUSED to take her meds from a syringe so I've been holding her and just putting it right into her mouth. Well this morning I decided I didn't want to do that because every time she squeaks like I'm killing her.
So this morning I went upstairs and got half a cracker and put her meds on it hoping that she would eat the cracker and get her meds. So I put her in the cat carrier and gave her the cracker and what does she do? She doesn't start eating the cracker, she starts licking the meds OFF of the cracker!!!!! What the heck?
I'm guessing that for some reason she's just decided to be a brat and has decided she doesn't like the syringe anymore.

Well at least she didn't attack the cracker, or sit on it and end up with meds all over her fur and not in her mouth, ya?

Lol, indeed! I'm glad she got her meds, but at the same time she definitely makes me sigh at her weirdness.

Most of our meds come from a compounding pharmacy with strawberry flavoring. We have had good luck with mixing the dose into rice cereal.

Well she'll still take the medicine, as I just found out, just not from the syringe anymore.
Her's smells like icing so I'm guessing it's flavoured similarily.

My mom gives her rats their meds in a spoon. They lick it up very well when the spoon is presented to them.

When Sushi was on antibiotics, she wasn't keen to have us put the syringe in her mouth initially but once she figured out she liked the taste of the meds, life became much easier. She'd wrap her little paws around the edge of the syringe and hang onto it while licking the antibiotics. Adorable, but I will be happy if I never have to give her meds again!

The spoon idea is a good idea! I've never thought of that.
As for the syringe thing, she's always just lapped the medicine up from the syringe with no struggling, like a bottle. Just randomly she decided she didn't like doing that anymore. :|
