I brought ruffles to the vet today, she fine :D The vet didn't see any need to take x rays. The past few days she was better, maybe she fell and hurt herself slightly. I still find she walks funny, but I think it's just her fur LOL I'm used to seeing the flat hair rats walking around. I'm not used to the rex hair walk LOL

so no meds, yay :) I guess I freaked out for no reason. I'm just glad she's fine :)

Good for Ruffles! I'm glad she's ok!

As promised, here's an update from Lili: we did get an X-ray done, and since everything shows perfect, we suspect either her urinary infection is making her uncomfortable, or she's starting HED (at 18 months... ). Started her on metacam and switched from Baytril for Trim Sulfa, she seemed to be walking a little better today... I'll keep my fingers crossed!

D-mannose is great for UTI- urinary track infections-
comes in a powder that is sweet- so easy to give and doesn't change the urine PH just stops the bacteria from
staying around . I use it on myself and my dog- as do my inlaws ( themselves and dogs) - they are MDs.

1/10 human dose should be fine. no side effects because it's not a drug-

my dog was plagued w/UTIs until we found out about d-mannose-
she never had an issue again- 7yrs UTI FR she lived to 16.
if you google pets and d-mannose you'll find lots of info

1 bottle lasts a long time- few years w/pets

Physicians who employ natural therapies have been using D-mannose since the mid-1980s with great success. Laboratory studies have now confirmed what these physicians and patients have known for many years.

Consider the three following studies on rats-
