As some of you may know, all three of my rats came from a pet store. Personality wise all of them have been fine; they're curious and hyper and happy. Algernon being the most brave, Sherlock somewhere in the middle, and Dupin the shyest. However Dupin has always been different...
About a month after we got them, sometime in September, I checked on them as always and found that she was bleeding out of her...well we weren't sure if it was her anus or not. She didn't act any different, and wasn't in any pain, so we figured she might have just gotten a scratch playing with the other two. That was fine, nothing like that has happened since. However she's also the largest of the three of them, and while Algernon is a dumbo, Dupin is just a rex. She also pees a lot - none of the others pee when I let them out of their cage, and it seems every-time I pick her up she's wet. She also bullies the other two (mainly Sherlock, who, due to their similar coats we figured were sisters) mainly just with playing (pinning down, sometimes a neck grab, a few stand offs here or there), but she simply does it so often. Yesterday I discovered she had had a nosebleed sometime while I was at school; her nose and paws were red, but she again, acted like nothing was wrong. Today it seemed like she was trying to hump Sherlock.
Edit; also it seems one of her eyes is red (as in...normal colour. Not bleeding or anything)...we weren't sure if she was blind in it or not, either. Although that's not related to the other two, I thought it was worth mentioning.
Lastly, and the biggest reason for me making this thread has to do with her female parts. They don't look like the others' but she doesn't have the testicles of a male. Is it possible she's actually a neutered male sold as a female? Here's the best picture I could get; http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h56/k ... 0e0f5f.jpg . (She has a tail by the way, it just blurred out - I took the photo with my cellphone)

It sounds to me like your little girl is not feeling well. Do you have a good exotic vet? Her bullying, being wet, the porphyrin in her nose and the weird lump in the back. I'd get her vet checked to be sure everything is ok.

What Jorats said ...
The nosebleed is likely porphyrin, a sign that she is stressed or feeling unwell.
She needs to see a good vet, knowlegable about treating rats (or at least willing to learn and consult with good rat vets), asap.

I had a little girl who was always wet and she had a urinary tract infection. That' s very painful and meds clear it up really fast. Good luck with your sweetie.

Sadly, there aren't...really any vets near us who take rats. The one I found's website is mostly under construction and that makes me unable to trust them; how can you be such a good and well organized vet if I can't even check half your site to see basic info? The other problem is that each of these three babies only cost about 12 dollars from the pet store, which is much cheaper than my other pets; in short, my parents would rather buy me a replacement rat than spend 100+ dollars on trying to get Dupin to do better when rats only live about 2 years, anyway (they are hardly for taking my others to the vet unless its an absolute emergency, and both my dog and bird were quite a bit money-wise).

She seems to have a sort of eye problem now, too, it goes through periods of swollen and unswollen-ness, and her fur isn't as wet anymore, but she still pees often.

That's really unfortunate. It's hard to fathom that any human being would allow the suffering of an animal. Can you find a part time job and be the one to take your rats to the vet?
That vet you mentioned, their website is of no consequence. It just means it's not their top priority which fine since animals should be their top priority.
In Canada, it's illegal to refuse vet care for a pet. Is it not the same in the US?

It's not unfortunately, they do have rights for abuse but denying an animal vet care is a very common thing in the US even if their is a law against it unless its straight out from abuse it's not really enforced :(

I've been trying to find a part time job, but it would have to wait until the summer; its not that my parents don't like the rats, they enjoy them as much as I do, but they don't see the point of spending so much money on them.
