Poor Lilith...Eye Again.. Update 8/11 :'(

Still leaking, still sneezing, but my real worry, her attitude, has lessened a little. She seems much brighter and more energetic this morning. Yesterday she seemed so discouraged and lethargic. When the rat gives up, you really worry.

I'm glad her attitude has improved! I know what you mean, it is very scary... She's a real fighter though, good luck with this I hope it heals so it can stop draining or whatever the heck is going on with it.

Also, I have to ask. Is it just me or does this photo look like there is a lot more blue/bruising, or perhaps quite a bit more spread out down her nose? :sad3:

I've never seen an infection be blueish though...

Could there be some mild necrosis of tissue under the skin?

She was looking a wee bit better last night when I visited, we think the swelling went down a little bit. She wasn't thrilled at being woken up, but she really liked the love and scritches afterwards!

A bit less swallowing too after sneezes, but I think she can't smell things anymore - I put a very fragrant peach puff right in front of her nose and she didn't seem to smell it at all.

Lilith is not doing so well...I think she has aspirated some of the fluid, as she started with a mild crackle and now her lungs sound full. :sad3: I put her on lasix this morning to see if we can dry up any of those fluids...I hate hearing her sneeze and choke. :cry: Then there's times she's very quiet and peaceful, its only when she's woken up and moving around, she starts sneezing again. Sigh, my poor chubby nakie love. :heart:

I also believe she is totally blind...her "good eye" is often porphy these days and she bumps into things and startles very easily. I see her ears twitching around when she's worried...Linnea worries her sometimes, as she likes to just rudely bowl over any rat and poor Lilith is blindsided. Tepeu is used to it all by now, but Lilith isn't adjusting to blindness well right now.
