So, had my babies out for their run today (separate of course lol) and Pixel was in a super hyper mood, zooming around the bed and climbing up the pillows to greet me, then dash into the windowsill behind me, crawling all over me, etc. At one point he dashed towards the end of the bed and stopped at the end, looking like he was just sniffing around (I had a large garbage can at the end (far enough away they can't reach) open for shaking off the chewed carboard and raisins before adding their bedding to the laundry basket, so I assumed he was smelling some of the food and such that have been in it (was basically empty, but some stuff in it), but then I noticed him, sort of, wagging his tail. I watched him and it was very different from when the smeeze boy was shaking his in fear when I had him. It was a wiggling mainly from the base, which made his tail look like is was wagging almost...
He was in a VERY good and curious mood, so I was a bit confused as I've never seen a rat do that. He did it for about 15 seconds then came dashing back up the bed to sniff at me, and climb back into the window sill for a few minutes....All the while stashing some cheerios behind my pillows :giggle:

Just curious I suppose lol

When I had my boy constantine, every time he was excited he would forcefully wiggle his tail back and forth and run around all hyper, it was adorable! the only other rat Ive seen do it was my other by willard but he only did it once or twice. I miss having a rat that does that, it seems some feel the need to wiggle and others never do.

I've seen mine do that too when trying to see if they can reach far enough to jump. (usually my escape artist Mia)lol

Scamp is always doing this. He is a very hyper boy who popcorns around most of the day ..when I come over to the cage he popcorns over and waggs his tail all excited and stuff.

My Lili does that when she is quiet and content, in our arms, being petted. She would just lie on our arm and enjoy the scratches and all, and all of a sudden, her tail would start wiggling. She started that at Christmas, when we were leaving for 2 days at a time. I have to admit, these are the best moments, just sitting there quietly with her, trying to find the perfect scratch that would make her tail go nuts! :giggle:

And I've seen my Pollux wagging his very hard and very fast when stressed - but he hasn't done so in a long while!
