:( She really wanted that thing out of there, who can blame her. They heal so fast though, I bet she's ok.
If you can't get convenia, and the amoxi is not working, you could also try Novotrimel/Bactrim/Septra, lots of aliases with that one. It's excellent on infections.

Yeah, Trimethaphrim sulfa (sp)/SMZ is another option, but my guys HATE that stuff. That and Chloramphenicol (which always gives my guys the runs). So we do have those as last resort options too. I am going to ask about the Convenia though, because I think it's worked for other folks I know too.

I sure do hope she'll be ok. And I need to stop worrying so much. This is just one of those times when I'm not so strong.

Well, finally a pretty good report. I'm cautiously optomistic now. Phoebe seems to be peeing ok on her own from what we can tell. :) She's still not wanting to eat much, no matter what we offer her, but she is drinking from her water bottle and will eat enough that she's pooing.

She really wanted to motor about tonight, and had an opportunity to visit with her sister and pals Jim and Adelina.

Here are a few pics of Phoebe tonight. These aren't that great, because she would not sit still (silly girl).

"ok, seriously mom....let me out"!

"and off I go. Have satellite dish, will travel"!!

"Ahhhh, out of that stinkin' collar"! (sorry it's blurry...but a cute pic of her darling face)

She's such a sweetie. No wonder she didn't want to sit still, once free of the catheter and (for a brief joyous time!) free of the evil collar.

I am so glad she is recovering well now. The eating may take time. My three senior girls sometimes have to be fed from our fingers.

Poor little possum! So glad that she looks to be doing ok. She's certainly a tough little girl to go through all that! And what a gorgeous face!

I'll send her some extra healing vibes all the way from Australia.....

Pheebs is looking a lot better now. It's great to see her without the evil collar.

When some of my ratties are on meds they will sometimes refuse to eat but I finger feed them then. They start eating on their own once the meds are done. Lots of kisses to your sweetie.

Just 20 more hours and Phoebe will have her sutures removed and that darn collar off!

Her incision looks good and it appears she's healing up just fine. My biggest worry is her not eating much and that she's depressed from being away from her friends. So I can't wait for tomorrow and hope it all turns out well.

Can she visit her friends?

Oh definitely. She's been toodling around on the bed with Ginger, Jim and Adelina for the last hour. :joy: She's happier than a clam too. And after that collar is off, I'll put her right back in the cage with them too. I keep telling her 'one more night Pheebs'

Well, Phoebe is suture and collar free now! :bunnydance: She's rejoined her friends and settling right back in. WHEW!

Thanks again everyone for all the good thoughts, well wishes and kind words :hugs:
