Last night Wayne and I got home, and went to check on the girls. I noticed that Pearl was very poofy and moving slowly so I picked her up. I knew something was not right. I gave her to Wayne and went searching for cheerios. Wayne all the while asking me what I was doing, only to be told to 'give this to her'. My heart sank as we saw her inability to hold the cheerio. I started to cry right then. If it's not PT it's something not nice. I will be taking her to the vet on Monday. I have two videos the first is of her just moving around, you can see the pushback, not sure if I captured her needing help to clean. The second one shows her eating baby food.

I know I'm wallowing in my own self pity right now. Pearl is our jokester, our funny girl. The one that they sick on us to sit at the door with her puppy dog eyes to let them out to play.

Wayne was so sweet and gentle moving her from the end of the bed.

I'm so sorry sweetie... that first video is so hard to watch :(

Hang in there... hopefully the meds will work and give her a few more happy moths.
What a dolll she is, I remember being smitten by her when meeting your lovely furbabies.

She's still rough looking. We fed her babyfood tonight. She has been trying to eat lab blocks, she will bite off crumbs to eat them. She's trooper and she's trying, but is sucks. I can't wait until tomorrow morning, I hope the vet can get us in early. Pearl's play buddy Lily will take the trip to the vets with us. Maybe Olivia depending on how she acts when I take the other two out.

While I'm at the vet I'm going to ask the price for euth and the methods. I will also phone the other vet as well. I want to know for when the time comes. Pray the meds work, even to have her back to normal for even a little while will be a godsend.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this LA. I can only imagine what you and Wayne are feeling. I dread the day one of my babies has this issue. :hugs:

she doesnt act like a typical pt rat that tilt to one side, roll or even circle. she seems more like shes had a stroke. poor little sweetie, but its encouraging to see her ability to eat!!
good luck today at the vets! :hugs:

Christina, weirdly enough through all the rats I have had with PT (about 13-14), almost none of them had a real head tilt.
