I just noticed Thora has a nail on her back foot that isn't normal, it looks like it might have curled but crookedly so that it goes to the side and not into the toe, but it's hard to see. It's not red or swollen and she doesn't favour it as if it was sore. She got a toe/nail injury a few days after I got her, so I suspect it's the same one and now it isn't growing properly. How would I go about trimming it?

You'll have to do it carefully and just do a little bit at a time.

This is actually quite common in rats. I've seen it many times. Doesn't seem to bother them one bit either.

My big boy nero i think has a nail like this. when he was a couple months old he got his nail caught in something, I wasn't sure what because I only noticed it afterwards. But the nail was ripped out and there was just a tiny bit of blood but he didnt seem to notice at all, i could even touch it. The nail grew back in a completly awkward spot.. almost half down his finger almost like when it was torn out it moved the root to a weird angle, but its fine and has never bothered him.
