Then best of my hopes & prayers for you & Wilbur. In the morning you're liable to look just like he does now after spending the night sleepless checking on him. Better let Kamali do the driving...
Best of hopes for good news about everyone tomorrow!
And kisses to Otto & Wilbur..

When I brought Scabbers home 4 hours after his surgery he was wide awake and even wanting to play. I hope they make it ok, definately take them to the vet in the morning if they are still not doing well.

They may have shaved the back of the tail for blood, but my vet never had to...

Same here with the younger ones. Of my older boys, Sebastian was just quiet and slept a lot but came out to see me on the bed that night. The other older boy had an underlying respiratory issue that flared up and I just thought he was in pain. :( I rushed him to the vet on Monday morning but he passed away after I admitted him. Poor Dominic.

Wilbur drank 5 cc's of Ensure in my lap and was falling asleep towards the end of it. He was not flailing or falling like he was, anymore, was much quieter and his eyes looked sleepy more than drugged.

Otto drank more eagerly 7 cc's and was bruxing in my lap and dozing afterwards.

I put Otto back in the cage and realized Wilbur was walking around, wobbly but walking. He was rearing up to poke his nose through the bars and they even went up the 2nd shelf for a bit. Then both settled down for a wobbly grooming of their Ensure faces, a long drink at the waterbottle for Otto, and then Wilbur climbed up the front of the cage to get to the top shelf, where he is now napping in His hammock.

I am sooo relieved. They are acting the way they should, just many hours later. :(
Thank you all for the advice and kind thoughts, it helped, because we always panic when its one of ours going through a crisis.

Whew Shelagh! I'm relieved as well. I've been sending him healing and working hard to balance him. His energy center in his head was completely blocked! I cleared them all just in case and he seemed better. If he seems sleepy now, rather than flailing around then that seems like a good sign. I'll keep sending! Hopefully, he will be all better by morning. Hugs to both boys!

Oh my god Shelagh!!!! I'm just catching up here now as I ran Luke to the vet for an abscess cleaning.....

Poor both of them!!!

Wilbur looked like he was still coming out of the isoflurane. Luke acts a bit goofy after he has had surgery but my god nothing that bad. Could be that Wilbur was also just having problems with getting the iso OUT of his system, slower metabolism or funny reaction to it? Either way, I agree, never that vet again.

Thank goodness Wilbur is going up instead of down!
I'm sorry for all the doomsday stuff you heard, but you know it's just love & concern from those who are heartsick over not having any control over things, but are grateful not to have the responsibility.
It's frequently a scary lonely road with these kids, we always walk it alone but it's nice to have hands poke out from the trees to pat us on on the shoulder as we walk it.. And of course a healthy kid takes you from that road to Disneyland.

But Dr. Munn is tomorrow! Man, that long lonely road seems like a cakewalk when you know you're nearing the house of a vet you trust.

I hope for all good new tomorrow from you!

The boys are fine this morning...no wobbles, bright eyes, still sleepy but normal sleepy now. :D they are acting the way I usually bring them home from Dr. Munn's office.

I am soo relieved!!!!

I don't mind the doom and gloom stuff because I want to know any possibilities. Being blindsided is the absolute worst. I took my sweet ***** in with what seemed like a minor myco flareup, expecting to take her home. But my vet palpated her and found an enormous tumour tucked deep inside her body cavity. :( She said she was worried it may burst, so I had her pts instead...For a little while I had an irrational fear of taking "healthy" rats to the vet for a short while after that.
