Even more of an update. As recommended by my vet she always wants to reduce the dose on the pred to see if they can be weaned off. I don't agree with it, but because she gives the scripts, I do it, see it fails, tell her and then she gives the ok to bump them back up. This happened with Olivia. She wasn't bad, but she was tired, she rested her head on the floor as she walked. She could eat babyfood out of the plate so we didn't have to help her. She lost more coordination. I told the vet and she said to put her back on twice a day. She stayed like that for a while. Saturday we were discussing her quality of life and wondering if we should make the decision to let her go. She still had that spark, but she just looked so tired with life. Sunday we finally saw her perk up a little, just a bit. Wayne and I talked about it again and he argued that she was still eating and taking meds. Pearl when she was ready stopped. He said if she didn't want to live she would stop too. Or at least give us a sign. We decided to keep her going. Well Tuesday, the day we WOULD possibly had her PTS showed a bigger change. She walks on her hind toes now, with her head raised more. She eats vigourously, she's putting on weight little by little or at least maintaining. She's more alert and happy looking. My little sweetie is a fighter that's for sure. It was a wonderful birthday present.
