I'll trust you.

I have an albuteral inhaler, if that's the same you have. I'm just worried about giving steroids to her, because that's what they are.

I'll do some more research, but to me it seems the most plausible, but of course... I originally thought pneumonia was allergies, so I'm making dead sure it's all right.

So glad to hear that she's still with you! Ratties can have chronic lung problems, so it wouldn't be unusual if she needed meds for the rest of her life. Check with a rat-knowledgable vet about what inhaler to use, and the dosage. (ie don't use your own!!!) Good luck!
