Glad that Jill is doing better.

If she does have pt, I really hope you start her on bromo asap.
It is by perscription from the drug store.
Godmother has had excellent results with it so you may want to pm her
Pet store rats are quite young so I hope she has every chance .....

I also hope that you can get her care for her abdominal lump .... depending on what it is, that could kill her.

This is one amazing thread! I didn't want to write Jill off before she was really gone. There is always that glimmer of hope that something miraculous will happen and that they will pull through.

She isn't out of the woods yet, but she does not seem to want to go. Lovely, lovely little Jill. :rose: :love6:

Well, Thursday night I thought I wouldn't make Jill go through this any longer because she wasn't looking well again. But she's gone & surprised me yet again!! Friday she was looking better & I decided I'd wait just a bit longer... and what do you know? Apparently the pred is really kicking in & helping her... because she's way more mobile & awake the past 2 days! She is even trying to climb her levels & into her hammocks! Today I gave her a few blocks & she ate them all!!
I've set up her hammock so that she can't fall in her cage but I'm going to move her into a smaller, one-level cage later today. Hopefully it will only need to be temporary though, but for now she is too wobbly to have levels. Last 2 weeks she couldn't even attempt them but now I'll have to change cages.

I'm going to upload some pics & videos of her eating & walking on my table from yesterday... maybe I'll take some more today. You're not going to believe how different she looks from a week ago!! :D

*pics & videos to come soon*

So glad that Jill is doing better ...
But if it is pt, she needs to be put on bromo ....
How is her lump? Abscess? Tumour? Something else?

Hope she continues to improve.
She is certainly a fighter and she looks like a very sweet little girl.

:wallbang: I can't share videos that I take on my phone! Ugh, that sucks. I had taken really nice videos of Jill just for you guys. Ahh well, here are the photos!

So I mixed up her food with her in my hand & she actually struggled (which is new for her) and then I sat the dish down to feed her & she kept moving around so I put her down near it & she jumped right in!! I was pretty surprised, but I let her go for it :giggle:

She made a big mess on the cloth so after I got her cleaned up we cuddled...

Nom nom nom nom! I can't help but think she looks alot better, maybe its the light but she looks alot brighter :D

Wow, what a crazy roller-coaster this has been for you! I guess Jill decided that she is going to enjoy this new home as much as she possibly can. I think she's just loving all this wonderful attention too much to leave. :)

Just a quick update on Jill tonight, she's still doing well & eating blocks & drinking water out of her dish like a good little trooper! The lump on her underbelly turned out to be an abscess & popped last week!! Very happy that it wasn't a tumour!!!
I've had one rat with an abscess before but it was small & popped & drained on it's own & I really didn't have to do much for it... so I really didn't expect this to smell THAT awful!! lol But wow! What a smell & sight!!! :sick2:

Anyway, she's doing well, like I said. Perhaps I will take photos of her in the next day or 2 to show everyone how she's doing. :)

I'm still kind of in shock but Jill passed away through the night.

She was still doing well yesterday, took her medication really well (better than half the time, I even thought to myself how well she was swallowing it all), she was still eating & drinking so she wasn't struggling at all & she hadn't gone downhill sick again. We found her this morning in her usual sleep position so I'm inclined (& hopeful) to believe that she just couldn't fight anymore & went in her sleep.

Lovely, sweet little Jill  R.I.P. Beautiful girl, I will miss you a lot! The last time we spent together was good, I gave you your medication & you took it so well I kissed you on the nose. That's how I'll remember you... a strong, strong little girl whom I loved. :sad3:

Kind of shocked to read this, it was so good to hear she'd been doing well. I'm sorry she had to leave you. :hugs: It sounds like she went peacefully. Rest well miss Jill.
