He sneezes when there is no carefresh when he's out far away from it for over two hours, while he's out.

Plus the carefresh is on the bottom of the first floor of the cage he's is at the top where there is none.

Ah ok then. I'd give him a bit more time to settle. But be on the lookout for wet sneezes, congestion, loss of appetite, porphyrin (red discharge).

Yeah I think some of the sneezes are wet. I'll give him the rest of this week and if he hasn't stopped by the weekend I'll make a appt with the vet.

Which is better, the one mentioned to me in Pickering or the one in Unionville?

I would call both, see how they sound about rats, ask for their prices and make a decision on how comfortable you feel with either vets.

Good idea. Not sure if this a symptom or just behavioral thing, but he doesn't cuddle with the other rats he tends to go sleep on his own. It's sad he sneezes all the time and isn't socializing.

Hmmm...antisocial babies worry me.

Does anyone know about a veterinarian named Dr.Munn? Seems she is a very good at rat care, wondering if there was any feedback?

I called unionville and they are closed at 6 but I guess aren't taking phone calls. And pickering seems good but the woman was rushing me on the phone. lol

So it turns out my little guy has a respiratory infection and now he's on meds, two kinds and has to take them twice daily.

Dr. Munn was great and very knowledgeable :D

He should be better within a weeks time.

Those are the drugs exactly, I never got to ask if this sorta thing is contagious, because right this night my older fancy has just started sneezing.

Yeah I don't know how I got it in my head that Dr.Munn was a she, I was surprised to see a bearded man come in lol

Sounds like a garden variety respiratory infection, and not likely contagious, but even if it was, your resident rats and the new babies have already been exposed to each other so its moot anyways.
