Oh I fully agree they should have helped you euthanize your girl. What I said was referring to what godmother said about not being able to refuse in an emergency, which doesn't always mean euthanization, but could require various treatments that not all vets are qualified to perform. That is what I meant.
 
I realize that being a vet is very difficult, having to know about so many species, but I don't see why the on-call vets shouldn't learn about some basic emergency procedures with ferrets, rats, birds & reptiles... or have some colleague in another city that they could call on. It would not happen very often.

It is awful to be turned away when an animal needs to be pts.

I'm sure Quick Start gives the animal, owner and vet the upmost dignity, as well as medical ethics. :redhot:
 
I'm so sorry to hear about Petunia :( I wish there is more I could have done for you when you emailed me. I can't believe that vet said that! That is very unprofessional.
