Did the vet do a fine needle aspiration to comfirm tumor vs. abscess?

No, she was FINALLY able to get hold of it though and said it feels a bit firm, pliable and movable. So, not as squishy as I originally thought. Molly just would NOT hold still for anyone this morning. I think trying to get a needle into it without too much harm to Molly would have required more than just holding her still. Molly was DEFINATELY a squirm-butt this morning.

For my Emma with her neck abscess I found the best thing was to run a washcloth under hot water, squeeze the excess, and wrap the whole thing around her neck... the upside to this being that if she really got ornery I could just wrap the flailing bits of her in the washcloth also, without her suffering any particular ill effects other than getting damp.

I did this for about 10 seconds, gave her a break for a few minutes, and did it again... instead of making her do it all at once.

Thank you for the great idea! I'll give that a go tonight when they girls get their free-range time.

Do you have anyone at home that can help you with compresses? I always find 4 hands make life easier than 2 when it comes to things like that

Yup! Isn't that what husbands are for? He is a pretty good helper, not much though if it is messy or bleeding, but compresses and drops he is good with.

Mike was a lifesaver when Emma had hers. She was much more still for him than she was for me when it came to any necessary squeezing.
