My First Rattie Head Tilt-And then there were two :(

Both Mia and Rattrap (brother and sister) still have their tilts, but they're all clear of the infection.

The vet said they'd have it for the rest of their lives.

House was on meds for a month, nothing changed and he remains with a head tilt. But I did rescue him like that and the vet thinks he probably had the ear infection a while before I got him.

I honestly never seen a rat totally recover from a head tilt. They adapt and manage very well with it.

How long before you stop giving the meds?

I'd do it for a month.

Makes me realize how lucky I was with Clara. She was staggering and circling, but three days of Metacam and abs stopped the tilt and the balance problems. I kept her on abs for six weeks, and she has been fine ever since.
