Last night intros did not go so well planned. Tofu took a bite out of poor Luke. Ive clean it with peroxide. Since I like using herbs I've giving them some diluted garlic (good to clean the blood hence why vampires hate it :giggle:) in with some barley (they loved it). What else should I do?

Our little rats heal so fast, there's not really a lot you need to do. Unless it is a very big, very nasty bite, it should heal up on its own in a day or so. Avoid using anything like neosporin, as it can trap bacteria inside the wound and cause an abscess because it encourages healing on the outside before the inside. We usually don't notice cuts on our kids, just "Where did that scab come from?" =)

I only use the no-neosporin/polysporin rule on puncture wounds, if its an open slash or something without any real depth then you can use the ointment. A puncture will heal over the top and trap the bacteria inside causing an abscess. For most puncture wounds I keep an eye on them, since these are the ones most likely to abscess.
