I have two dwarf rats and they have been itching for awhile. They seem to have little scabs and I took them to the vet and she prescribed revolution. I put on them on exposed skin on the back of their necks. It appears they both have buck grease on them. However it was applied a few days ago and they are still itching. I just want them to be more comfortable.

The Revo should work very quickly but the rat will likely continue to scratch a bit longer as the scabs dry and pull and need to be scratched off. In a week or two, you can see if the scabs are dry and easy to scratch off with your nail, or fresh and might bleed if scratched. If so you need to re-treat at 3 weeks. Revolution is very effective on mites but if you use paper or wood based beddings its best to freeze them for 48 hours before using just in case they got infested from the bedding
