Each rat will be different. Some of my boys dont show a single sign before they bite.
John cocky again.

I am not sure if you can see the difference but he is stressed. He is tense you can feel it in their body.

Templeton is another stressed boy. The tense is usually a bad sign.

I think my templeton shows what a bad boy rat is best. He wanted to bite. You can see it. He was confindent not so much an horrible aggressive boy he didnt take anything off of any boy. It was shape up or i bite you.

A rat in hot pursuit of another rat generally ends in a bite. A puffy boy for the entire intro or one that is slow stepping or side stepping a rat is bad. One who grooms so intensely you can tell a bite will follow. That is just the mean boys.
Templeton wasnt so aggressive but he ruled with an iron fist. If you didnt act right, he would punish.
Some rats scream during intros and freak out. They can also freeze. These guys usually get bitten because someone wants to show them that isnt acceptable behavior. Pinning and standing up is ok, as long as you see most of the action with their hands. Be happy when it is all you see.
Hopefully those show you I have had my share of horrible intros LOL
