I Freaking Love My Vet (Also a Question)

So I took Bug and Beauty to the vet today (Bug's been porphorin-ing and sneezing, Beauty just to check her general health) and I found out some things.

-Bug is a drama queen and likes to freak me out with her sneezing and porphorin.
-Bug doesn't have any sort of RI, or URI.
-Beauty may or may not have mites, Dr. Hurst didn't wanna do a skin scrape because there's a big chance of a false negative. But she gave me ivermectin for free!
-Beauty has a lump on her throat/neck area. It's moveable. It's about the size of a small pea.

Now for the question. How do I know if it's a tumor or an abscess?
It's moveable, it's hardish.
She said if it gets bigger, then we'll have it removed.

Sounds like a tumour to me but nobody can be sure without seeing it really. The vet should be able to see the mites/lice on her, if you see little tiny bugs then that's them. Glad she gave you the treatment incase.

You can see if there are lice, they are white or red depending on how recently they have eaten, but mites are microscopic and you have to get REALLY lucky or have a REALLY bad infestation for a skin scrape to come back positive(for them to show up in the microscope).

You'll know soon enough if it's an abscess or not, an abscess will pop and it smells bad.. But be sure to call the vet before it gets to big.
Your vet sounds like an excellent vet.
