So I had the horror last night of discovering that my boy Hastings has a very large interal mass. There are no outwardly visible signs of the tumor and on appearance he looks completely normal. The only reason I even detected the mass is because he seemed lethargic last night whereas the day before he was acting normal. I gave him a full body check and that is when I made the discovery. It is in him lower abdomen, very deep and feels attached. I am dosing him with metacam and will have him checked by my vet ASAP. He is very lethargic today, I have him in my RaToob now and he slept with me last night so I could keep an eye on him. I honestly feel pretty hopeless about this, it certainly doesn't look good for him. If anyone has dealt with anything similar or has any suggestions until the vet visit, or that I should bring up to my vet that would be great. A little about Hastings: he, his siblings, and Mama Agatha have been with me since the bubs were around 2 weeks. He is now around 6 months and is neutered. The neuter was uneventful and without incident. Until this he has had no health problems. Thanks in advance!

I am so very sorry
... nothing to add, hopefully it is an abscess or can be removed ...

The pain meds, special foods, keeping him warm, fed, hydrated .... and loved ...

:hugs:

He is wet in the photos from me wiping him down so thats why his hair looks weirdly shiny

Thanks so much:) BTW, read your thread on Tanner, gives me a bit of hope for my Hastings.

Another update: With a bit of a struggle got some ensure in Hastings. All his extremeties are very pale and he can only poop with my help.

So Hastings just had an appt with our mobile vet. He will have an ultrasound tomorrow to determine more but on examination the mass goes back to his spine and is attached at least to the muscles in his back. There was talk of a lymphoma, potentially something to do with the inguinal lymph node. However, without the ultrasound we can't be certain. Will keep you guys updated...

Poor boy... the sucking in the sides can be caused by severe abdominal pain. Is he on pain meds?
Yeah, I am sure its from the pain as well:( He is on metacam right now.
