I whipped Agnes to the vet to get her teeth trimmed this morning, and instead of using clippers to snip them off, they used a dentist-style drill on her! They did it in the surgery room, but I listened closely at the door, and I couldn't hear any eeking from her. When she came back, she seemed perfectly happy and untraumatised, and her teeth looked jolly nice.

I mention it because I've seen posts where people have had bad tooth-trimming experiences, and the drill seems like a pretty good solution. Might be worth suggesting it to your local vet.

(The only other tooth-trimming I've needed was for a hamster I had about fifteen years ago. I think the vet did it out of the sheer novelty of handling a friendly, unbitey hamster; just stuck a pair of tweezers in his mouth and, PING, snapped those teeth with pliers. Sputnik was suprised, but unhurt.)

Some vets use the grinding tool (forgets the name) and some prefer clipping.
But it's definitely something to mention to the vet, I believe the grinding method is safer.

Interesting! My vet refuses to do teeth, scared of clipping them so maybe this would be more comfortable for her! I have to resort to dragging my feet to my old vet for teeth trimmings and I am NOT fond of that... would this be similar to a dremmel??? I would much rather do teeth trims at home.
