Daniel - struggling to breath, mass in his chest

Poor sweet man. I just started an old treatment my vet used to use. A combo of fluids (I use ringers), gentocin and dex once a day sub-q. Declan was scheduled to be pts today but its giving him a real lease on life....he still crackles but his breathing is not as laboured by far, and he's bright.

Daniel does look like a love. :heart:

Daniel's lungs and heart are in great shape ... the problem is the huge mass in his chest likely pressing against his trach. and making it very difficult to breath.

He has been getting dex injections since Friday but he doesn't seem to be doing any better

I assumed if it was working, Daniel would have some relief by now .....

then its gone too far for real treatment and you are on strictly day by day palliative care.

Daniel hasn't got much quality of life left, don't think he is eating much
he will lick a tiny bit off my finger ....

don't want him to suffer further or have an emergency with no vet available

So I guess this is it ... and Daniel is only about a year and a half old ....
Time for thirteen ratties to get their meds ... and going to go cuddle my sweet little boy ....
