Craig has surgery tomorrow

Craig (Miriam's son) goes in for surgery in the morning.
He has had a lump since his neuter, so tomorrow the vet is going in to remove dead tissue.
I'm very very apprehensive .....

Why are you worried about this one? Not a typical procedure? Couldn't be an abscess?

The boys were neutered on April 29. The swelling on the other 3 boys went down, Craig still has a lump next to his penis. Vet says it is dead tissue, not an abscess.

My vet has done hundreds of surgeries on rats and to my knowledge, no rats have died as a result of the surgery.
After hearing stories on here of apparently healthy rats dying during or after surgery, I realized that I have been taking surgery for granted .... So now I am feeling a bit nervous/concerned/worried ....
