Hi! I'm new to this site, also a new rat owner. I adopted a friend rat and I recently noticed his from left paw is super swollen. At first he was walking on it using it and acting fine. I had giving him a little hit of infant tylenol and it brought the swelling down to pretty much normal. Then today I look at it was super swollen again and it had been about a week since I brought the swelling down. But this time around he wont walk on It he wont use it to eat. I can touch it and look at it and he doesn't freak out. He was also acting weird today and normally I open his cage and he comes running today he just lb aus in his bed and I rub his belly while he hold my pinky. I think there is something wrong with my little Remy guy :(

Welcome the forum.
I am sorry that Remy's foot is swollen.

Since it has been a week and Remy's foot is swollen again I would suggest a vet appointment asap with a good vet who has the knowledge and experience to treat rats. My concern is that his foot may be infected and he may need antibiotics or it may not be healing properly and he may need other medication. Usually when this happens it is a sprain but it could be broken.

The amount of medication that rats are given depends on the weight of the rat, the medication and the strength of the medication. Do you have a digital scale that weighs accurately to 1 gram?
Here is the dosing information for Tylenol - infant would be the best to give http://ratguide.com/meds/analgesics/acetaminophen.php
If you need help with figuring out the correct dose, Lilspaz68 can help with that.

Does Remy live with at least one other same sex rat?

No I didnt use a scale incident have one. I just put a 1 drop in an 1/8 a tsp. Felt like it was probably it helped the swelling the first time.
Remy lives alone, I adopted him from a friend who could no longer have him and he has been alone since she got him. I wanted to get him a friend but I dont have the time or a spare cage to introduce them. I'll call around vet places where I live but I dont think I have one that works with small animals around here!! I will look though I'll do any thing for my little guy!

A digital scale that measures accurately to 1 gram and has a tare function is an important resource for rat owners.
Amount of medicine needs to be based on the weight of the rats

You will need to get another male rat to be friends with him - and unless all rats are under 12 weeks old, you will need to do gradual introductions - see joinrats.com and https://www.ratshackforum.com/threads/introducing-new-rats.34842/#post-491257

His "hand" is not too bad. I've seen far worse swelling. Infant Advil is better than Tylenol, Tylenol doses are usually quite big for a rat. I'm sure with time he will heal up fine.
How old is the little guy?

Tylenol is only good for pain, not swelling and they need a huge dose. Infant liquid ibuprofen works on pain AND swelling and needs to be given every 4-6 hours. If you can get a guesstimate weight on your boy I can give you an ibuprofen dose.
