Any hope for a rescued (injured by snake?) baby rat?

In the wild, when a snake is hungry, they don't hesitate, it's fast, it takes seconds. If it's not the same for a snake in captivity, then something is wrong.

Thanks for the update.

I have hand raised a litter of 10 babies from 8 days old (they were surrendered to us as their mum was killed by the family cat) and all survived ;)

Baby opened its eyes today.

Hope the little one makes it .... it sounds like eating is a challenge as the diff things she has tried have the formula coming out too fast at times ...

There are a few things she can try :

1cc syringe with some IV tubing attached to the end. Cut the tubing down to a small length and try this way. One drop at a time.

1CC syringe with catheter tubing placed on the end. Shorten as needed.
I have had success with both of these methods.

She can also get a piece of fabric that doesn't fray and wet this with formula, and put it in the bubs mouth. The baby will suck the moisture from the material.

The baby ended up being a little girl.
She was introed with two of her sisters (rescued from the snake owner).
All 3 were adopted this weekend by a woman in Fredericton.
The baby girls are 4 or 5 weeks old.
