I just checked on my girls and Liz was just kinda of lying there, not moving and not interested in anything, I took her out and it looks like there might have been a little blood on the bottom of one of her back feet. Then I looked at her mouth and it looks like there is blood on the top teeth. and a little on her chin. She is not eating anything I offer to her and shes very still. I don't have any rat meds, what else can I do if shes in pain?

Any ideas on what may be wrong?

ETA: Im heading to the store to get some soft baby foods/cereal. She ate some lettuce and drank a tiny bit of water.

How old is she? Currently on any medications? It's possible she had a seizure and bit herself, I suppose. Sure it's blood and not porphyrin? Keep her warm to treat for shock, and try to get fluids into her, you can give banana(for potassium/vit k) to slow down bleeding if she still is. Infant ibuprofen can be given for pain if she really seems to be in pain, but lethargy is a big deal and you should probably take her to the vet if she doesn't improve speedily.

Ya there was some blood in the cage, not much though. Once I got some water in to her she seemed to improve a bit, shes moving around the cage now, just slowly. I don't have ibprofin, I only have infant tyelnol. I dont believe she is bleeding anymore but if she was couldnt ibprofin worsen the bleeding by thining the blood? Or it may be another type that I'm thinking of.

I'm going now to give her some baby cereal and see if she'll eat that.

I have no idea how old she is... I picked her up and her sister from a kijiji ad back in December. They are normally quiet active. Can rats bite their tongues? There really wasnt much blood in the cage at all, and her face doesnt look swollen to me. I feed her some baby food, peas and some carrots and she ate more than I thought she would.
