A Question, giving my rat amoxicillin, its working...

Ok so my boy willard, since he was a baby has had sniffely nose and sneezes a lot, he was sick when he was a baby but hes almost 2 now. I have Amoxicillin Capsules for when secondary infections begin to occur(so im not scaring anyone I know the dosage to give by weight) My boy willard every now and then sneezes just a tiny bit more then normal and sniffles.. I just wanted to test what the amox would do(if anyhing) Hes been on Amox for about 3 days now, by the 2nd day he stopped sneezing and his stuff nose is gone(and I know its the capsules because he did it BAD his whole life) he sounds so clear since he has been on it!

So what does this mean? has he been slightly sick his whole life is that possible? He acts like all my other boys(again just always had an insanely stuffy nose and sneezes) Should I keep him on? I started in the beginning because when he sniffed things out I could always hear his stuffy nose.

I wonder if maybe your boy has allergies instead of being sick. Was he checked by a vet who said it was URI?

I had a girl with allergies and meds seemed to help for a few days but the sniffles always came back. I finally put her on allergy medication and Sara lived to 29 months and passed of a PT. She sneezed all her life. She was a very happy girl.

I've had a couple of rats that were sneezy all their life too. The meds never did anything either so I figured allergies.
