2 year old rat, never lived with other rats?

There is another 30 month old rat on my local Kijiji. I'm considering taking him since I'm picking up the other 30 monther as well (different people). But he has never lived with other rats. Would introductions be impossible at this point? I've got a cage that holds 1-2 rats, I use it for a travel/hospital cage, so he can stay there. But before I make a decision, I'm wondering if introductions are most likely out of the question?

The only good part of this is that they've had him listed for months and still have him. So they aren't dumping him somewhere and did make sure he wasn't going to be food.

All rats need a friend ..... the 2 seniors may do well together or may need different partners

I have had plenty of single boys who spent most of their life alone who are now with groups or at least a girlfriend.

Same with me. When I rescued a lot, I always had them join a group, no matter the age.

I had a boy who was single much of his life, resisted intro attempts, and finally around almost 2 years he decided it was nicer to have company than to scare it off.

All single rats I bring in are, eventually, intro'd to a group. Some of them are difficult and it take time, others find themselves in rattie heaven with newfound friends they always needed.
