Well, I think I'm putting an end to intros--neutering Fred!

Well, the intro process was useful because I'd been planning to have Peter neutered.

Fred is clearly the problem. The other three are 100% fine with each other, but Fred seems to start all the fight, though he gets the most bloody bites.

I just split up a fight between him and Neville, his cagemate, during an intro. Every intro lately has been fine for a while, then Fred will get in a fight with someone, anyone, and it all devolves from there...they all go crazy and will fight anyone that comes anywhere near them.

So, I'm hoping having Fred neutered will help a lot.

Poor, little, dude. Testosterone overload is shifting his little hormone household into overdrive. :sad3:

Yep... I think a neuter will help him too. :flowers:

Thanks...and major thanks for the suggestion to try intros...it was good to figure out who the true prproblem rat was. And it makes more sense why Neville has been so happy for the he's had with peter and albus. He actually enjoys intros, which is weird cause he's a big grouch who usually doesn't enjoy anything. I bet Fred was being a little tyrant though, so he enjoys hanging out with normal rats.

Well, that and they may have been his first friend. I feel awful for keeping him from them for so long...he's an older boy. It didn't seem like he was unhappy with Fred...

I think I can schedule the neuter for next week.
