plus me. Think I have the flu.

Ill ratties on meds:
Robin has chf and took a turn for the worse late Friday. I think she will be pts today. :sad3:
Esther continues to struggle with chf.
Peter has hed and pt.
'Becca is listless and puffy but I can't find anything wrong with her. She does not seem dehydrated. Started her on baytril a few days ago as she didn't seem to feel well.
Hope, Mary, and Laurel are all very conjested and their breathing sounds horrible. Meds aren't helping so may need to be changed.
Peter and Luke have ongoing respir issues that haven't cleared up with meds so have them on heart meds along with the antibiotics ... it is making a difference but not enough.
Jessie, Sandy, Betsie, and Maria are all on baytril for respir. Hopefully they will soon feel better and not worsen as Mary and Laurel did.

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.
Esp. re. "Becca as I have no idea what is going on with her. She just curls up in a ball and barely responds when I pick her up.

(At least the other ratties seem to be healthy ... hoping no one else gets ill.)

Update:

Robin - pts :sad3:
Esther another med added
Peter has hed and pt. - meds continued, tenative apt made to be pts as he is deteriorating fast :(
'Becca (Rebecca) - has a large mass in her abdomen and is showing some signs of pt. Going to try pred. Tenative apt made to be pts as she is deteriorating fast, considering surgery but she is so listless and with the possible pt, so it doesn't seem in her best interests - would appreciate feedback on this. PT signs: using teeth to eat instead of her tongue, clicking teeth on med bowl, nipped vet, uncoordinated walking.
Hope - continue meds
Mary and Laurel - med change, Laurel has an appt for an xray
Joy is now on medicam as she seems to be in pain (has been squeeking a lot lately when touched)
Peter and Luke - meds continued, apt made for xrays. Peter was dehydrated and I couldn't tell as he is so very thin
Jessie, Sandy, Betsie, and Maria - meds continued
Sunny - start baytril
Joey - start baytril and possibly clavamox if needed

I am so sorry......little Robyn was one of the little black berks that godmother fostered wasn't she?
I can't imagine having that many rats on meds. I hope things get better soon.

Thank you.

Yes Robin is one of the Oromoncto girls ....
Esther, 'Becca and Mary are her surviving sisters.
Will post a memorial later .... have quite a few to post :sad3:

I am so sorry to hear about Robin, even though I knew it was going to happen. I am also sad to hear of Becca's tumour. I think that she should be pts; surgery would not do her any favours, just prolong her misery.

It must be awful to see so many of them get worse all at once. Those dear Oromocto ratties are hanging on despite the odds.

I'm so sorry SQ... one thing is for sure, you and the rats are fighting the battle together, no one can ever say you haven't tried. :hugs:

Oh no....it is so sad. I am going through the same thing right now SQ. I know how much it hurts. You feel so helpless.
I am very sorry for little Becca......and for you :hugs:

Peter is continuing to deteriorate and eats little although I am syringe feeding him .... Vet visit tomorrow, it may be time :sad3:
Update on Paul given on another thread ... not good :sad3:
Esther is the sole remaining sister as Mary was pts two days ago.
Betsie and Jessie (Liverpool girls) have taken a turn for the worse and are both rapidly losing weight.
Vet gave Jessie a med change last week. I added clavamox to Betsie's baytril today.
Joey started wheezing 2 days after his meds were reduced to just baytril so he is now back on clavamox.
Joy is on metacam as the joints in her hind leg are badly deteriorated by arthritis.
Six others are still getting meds ...
:sad3:
