first off, i posted not long ago about my young girl (nameless) and that she was squeaking alot. i was supposed to upload a video for some of you to see but i didnt have a phone or camera, my parents are gone on a timeshare trip somewhere and my sister lost cant find her camera. maybe if i had worked harder on getting a camera you'd guys would have been able to point it out and she could be getting better already
i feel terrible because i was wrong. i thought something might be wrong with her, but then i learned about the new house sneezes and etc. and i took her to a vet (not very experienced in small animal, mainly dogs.) and she seemed to think everything was fine, and the squeaking had gone down to a minimal and i concluded she was just nervous. BUT now me and my rats sleep patterns are COMPLETELY off i realized that the squeaking\honking noise she's been making hasnt gone away at all. sometimes she makes the noise with every breath for about 10 seconds.
i must admit i was not too familiar with any sort of rat issues before although i have taken in rats with problems, usually inoperable tumours and whatnot. besides this i havnt experienced rat illness before.
i realised something was really wrong when i was watching this video and getting new ideas for cages and in the description it said the noises she was making was from myco. skip to 2:30

now, my girl isnt THAT bad but the same noises are present. i feel so bad i brushed it off. but i have an appointment with a different vet that has experience with rats. (i've moved in the past year so i dont have my regular trusty vet anymore)
i've done a little research on the topic but im no expert. i know to keep things really clean. and when i go into the vet i want to be able to know a little more so i can be confident in my knowledge even if the vet isnt. im sure your guys first hand experience will be much more accurate than general internet searches (wich i've done) so if anyone would like to give me some information i'd gladly appreciate it. like, what type of medications should she be comming out with and how long do they last? should i keep her house with jar-jar? AND ALSO i think it was jorats blog i was reading about her statistics with spayed and neuteured rats and was quite impressed. therefore would it be safe to get her spayed eventully or would it be better to just not to?
