Mallymkun is 21 months old and has a pretty decent size lump. She is nasally he never hears it in her lungs so hopefully she will do ok.

At this age I always second guess myself but they mally is so tiny that thing looks like a monster hanging on her. I am hoping bindi's will be quick and easy so she wont be under long. Keep your fingers crossed that I bring both girls home.

I thought for sure I would lose either my noisy breather or the chunky monkey girl bindi. Both made it through the surgery and are in recovery now. I will be taking cordelia with me so they can remove her stitch for me and picking my girls up :)

It was so funny, Kait was holding her for that picture and mally was the sweetest thing. You could tell she just loved the head rubs from kait. I try to do it, she turns on me to bite me. Ludo does the same thing to kait when he see or smells her, he puffs up but I can pet him for hours.

She wont leave her damn incision alone. Tried ot make a cone she wiggles her little bum out of it. of course you know you cant wrap a rats body because well they wiggle right out of that too. I need help or an idea how to stop her from chewing this.

I am so frustrated right now, i cannot get a cone to stay on her head,, i cannot wrap her body....

The face of a devil. I am so stressed I can't do anything to stop her from messing with it. I could eriously cryy.

Do you have the instructions on how to make a full body bandage? I don't have the book anymore but maybe one of our "not vets (but should be)" members can help out.

Girls tend to chew their incisions more than boys do from what I've read. :sad3:

Is there anything nasty tasting that wouldn't hurt the incision that you could put on it?

Hang in there! Many a girl before her has chewed on her sutures and has lived to tell about it. :hugs:

Here is a great site on how to bandage a post-op rat.

My last two rats who have surgery have both chewed their sutures. The first one, Mr. DeweySaab, had a cyst by his back leg that was removed but I took him back to the vets at least 3 times because he chewed himself open. The last time, I just said "sorry Mr. Dewey" and he healed up like a champ.

My most recent rat Gracie had two separate tumor surgeries and opened my vet's very tiny and neat sutures both times. (the second one after letting it heal for 3 days). On the second operation, we had her on narcotics to alleviate any discomfort chewing but she opened herself up anyway. These were laser surgeries, btw.

That's when I went and found the above guide. I haven't tested it, but I will make sure to bandage up my next rat who goes under the laser "knife". No more chewing sutures!

Look at that face!!! :thud:

A face like that absolutely HAS to be nominated for RPOM. :rose:

Any seconds please? :cheeky:

I sadly cannot help with the chewing, but I sure can second that nomination for a beauty from Hell!

SECOND! Loved that face from the moment I saw the picture... (sorry!) :giggle:
