So I adopted three boys and they're coming home at the end of the week or early next week! The trip home will be an hour and a half, so I don't want them to be squished. Does anyone know an appropriate yet affordable carrier I could get? I have a 21"L x 16" W x 18" H cage that is not in use, but it has two additional shelves. I don't want them to get hurt if a bump in the road throws them off the shelf etc. Ideas?

There is one on Dr Foster & Smith that is 16.5w x 10.5L x 11 H for $18.99 Is that enough space?
Thanks!

for my carrier I have a small Bird cage, with a handle on the top. no shelves or anything, and I got it for 5 bucks.

I tihnk your little cage will work , and if you are worried about the shelves, you could take them out, or just put a hammock in to break the fall. Also through fleece scraps in the bottom for bedding.

Can you find a cheap cat carrier on craigslist or something? Otherwise, hamster cages make decent carriers but they may be smaller than what you're looking for.

Cat carriers are great for rattie road trips, as they're really durable. And honestly, having less space in a carrier is a better than having more, so they can't flop around too much if there is an accident or something. An hour and a half? They will just sleep. Don't worry about them not having enough space as long as they can move pretty comfortably.

I use a cat carrier whenever I have to take my girls anywhere and I just throw a towel in there with them and they usually fall asleep. :')
