Just returned from dropping Toofer off at the vets to be spayed.
Raine went along to keep Toofer company.

I am very, very nervous ....

Breathe. :hugs: Did they tell you when the surgery should be?

No, so I guess I will be bugging them all day LOL.
She was in a month or so ago to be spayed with the other Liverpool girls but there were slight respir. sounds, so she wasn't done. Given her history it is better to err on the side of caution.
Hoping everything will go well today ....

I always get a rough estimate on when surgeries will be
if they start at 11, I will call at 1 :p I figure you call enough and bug them every hour or so from 11 am on, they will tell you when it "should" happen ;)

I don't think this clinic is very organized plus the roads are bad today ...
I was actually the only one there to check in an animal ... usually the place is a mad house but it was very quiet this morning.

Thanks ...
Spay was cancelled as she started sneezing and continues to have porphorin around one eye.
Since she is higher risk, I think I will see what my vet in NB thinks.
Leaving soon to pick her up.

I am sorry :(

Me too.
Besides the considerable health benefits,
I have 7 unneutered boys here so the risk is too high.
Don't have the money to neuter the boys so ...

I'm not sure, mamarat.
Toofer was one of the young adult (3 months to ?) Liverpool ratties we rescued in May from the tank in the shed. She is the one that was rushed overnight (with her sister Laural) to my vet in NB for emergency surgery as a bottom tooth was growing through her tongue.
She only has 2 of the 4 front teeth left and has been on various combos of meds since I got her but niothing has helped.
She is a dear little girl  that has been though a lot ..

Aww your poor sweetie. I rescued Sara and she was sniffly all her life. Tried different combos, allergy meds, nothing helped. I just let her be and she lived to 29 months, PTS because of PT.

Poor little girlie. She could very well be my Keemun and Rooibas' Mum, ... or Sister, ... or Auntie, ... or Cousin. It looks like Keemun may have inherited some of her dental issues. What does she look like, SQ?

She is a beautiful beige hoodie.
The teen girls from that rescue were Laural (beige hoodie, gave birth in my car), Toofer (beige hoodie), Maria (beige hoodie) and Sandy (beige berk). The others were 4 baby girls and 9 baby boys. Unfortunately I was unable to get the other baby boy and baby girl as they were gone when I went back.

I'll see about posting some updated pics soon.
Toofer has major teeth problems and about half of Laural's 8 babies have teeth problems as well.
