Just wonderin what other types of easier to learn tricks there are out there? My rats (named Katia and Serj, both female) know how to spin and sit up for treats now, took about a week for each trick (although Katia learned faster) I just wanted to know what trick i should go for next in opinions?

If you cut off the rim of a coffee cup(the paper kind) and take it in slow steps, you could probably teach one or both of them to jump through it like a hoop. Im not sure how you'd go about it(probably by starting them walking through it), but if you broke it down into small steps and worked up to it you could probably get it. :)

I had one rat who could jump on command. I taught him this by accident, and he used it to jump out of the cage everytime I opened it. So be careful what you teach them! LOL

I actually have a book.. It's called 'The Complete Guide to Rat Training: Tricks and Games for Rat Fun and Fitness' by Debbie Docummun. I haven't gotten around to trying anything in it myself yet, but a lot of the tricks are pretty awesome, so I'd recommend hunting it down on Amazon or something of the sort. It covers basics and advanced training, games, clicker training, and positive reinforcement as a behavioural modification.

If you have any questions about what's inside of it, feel free to PM me, and I'd be glad to give you a more in depth description and type out some of the easier tricks for you to practice if you're not willing to go buy the whole book :D

One of our members here taught her rat to high five. Or low five, however you look at it. lol
Clicker training also works with rats. My sister changed an unwanted behaviour by clicker training proper behaviour.
You could try jump, stand up, come when called...

Come when called - very useful when you let them free roam. They know how to make sure to hide in the last place you'll think of searching for them... and enjoy watching you panic and call them
