Cash who is about 4 or 5 months old give or take had a head tilt maybe a week and a half ago. It isn't getting worse but it is odd to see his odd head moving with the tilt. I put him on baytril and the smell is gone but I was holding him and he melted with an ear rub so much so his tail was wagging like mad. I never had a head tilt before not sure if I should try. Baytril in his ear instead of orally now since he I still tilty.

Treatrment is usually either baytril + clavamox or clorpalm. they are given orally, twice a day.
My vet always has rats on med.s for inner ear infections for at least 4 weeks.
A anti-inflamatory such as metacam, or predisone are also used to reduce swelling and prevent permanent damange.

I would continue to give baytril orally and add clavamox, and an anti-inflamatory.
I assume you know his weight and the correct doses

Yeah I can get it. I have metacam here and some clavamox. I can add those tonight. I just don't want it to stay he is off balance with his head like that.

I seen it in pictures but till you actually see how it makes them move it is nothing. I seen it as a dog when they tilt their head but with rats it kinda throws them off a bit and makes their head move bit more. So odd to me. The poor guy is only like 4 months old. I just know i have to watch around the edge of the cage when it is open he flipped out one day.

We did steroids and antibiotics. Currently he is still on the antibiotics. He got worse but then you can see a bit of improvment now it could be he learned to live with it because he is still a tilty boy.

My concern is his left eye, or right eye guess it depends on how you look at him :) it seems smaller.

he is impossible to get pictures of.

He seem ok, hasnt fell lately and he still screams bloody murder when they boys pin him back.

Or could the other eye be bigger? I need to talk to mamarat... she was just telling me how her tilty seemed to have a bigger eye on one side. I wonder if it has anything to do with being tilty?

that is exactly what I was going to put in there too. I wasnt sure if one was bigger or the other was smaller. I could see them using one more to compensate for the tilt. I just never dealt with an inner ear infection before so.
